Social Services Transportation Advisory Council

Improving Transportation Through Community Input

The Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) serves as a voice for transportation-dependent populations throughout Tehama County. The Council works alongside local transit agencies, community organizations, and public officials to identify transportation needs, review services, and recommend improvements that help residents access essential destinations and services. SSTAC helps ensure that public transportation remains responsive, accessible, and beneficial to the individuals and communities who rely on it most.

What Does SSTAC Do?

The Council provides input and recommendations on transportation services and programs that support:
Older adults and seniors
Individuals with disabilities
Low-income residents
Veterans
Students and youth
Individuals with limited transportation options

By gathering feedback from riders and community organizations, SSTAC helps identify transportation gaps, improve mobility, and support programs that connect residents to healthcare, employment, education, shopping, and community services.

Community Representation

SSTAC is made up of representatives from organizations and groups that serve transportation-dependent populations throughout Tehama County. Members bring valuable insight into the transportation challenges faced by the communities they represent and help guide future transit planning efforts.

The Council works collaboratively with TakeTRAX, the Tehama County Transit Agency Board (TCTAB), local service providers, and regional transportation partners to improve mobility throughout the county.

Public Meetings

SSTAC meetings provide an opportunity for community organizations, transit riders, and members of the public to learn about transportation programs, discuss mobility challenges, and share ideas for improving local transit services.

Public participation is encouraged as community feedback plays an important role in shaping future transportation priorities.
